The Lourdes pilgrimages take place all year round, even if the period from Easter to All Saints' Day concentrates the majority of large gatherings.

Several types of pilgrimages can be distinguished:

– The Diocesan and national pilgrimages organised by dioceses or entire nations (like the National Pilgrimage around August 15th), they bring together thousands of people.

– The Specialised group pilgrimages : such as the International Military Pilgrimage, the Firefighters' Pilgrimage, the Hospitaliers' Pilgrimage, or those dedicated to young people, the sick and disabled people.

– The Individual pilgrimages numerous visitors and tourists come throughout the year, particularly during the low season, for a more personal and quieter spiritual journey.
